After securing a top-four finish in the Premier League and lifting the UEFA Conference League trophy, Chelsea have wasted no time in making moves during what promises to be a hectic summer transfer window.

The Blues confirmed their first signing of the window last Wednesday, bringing in highly-rated striker Liam Delap from Ipswich Town. 

Delap’s arrival signals Chelsea’s intent to strengthen key areas ahead of a season that will include domestic challenges and European competition.

Having bolstered their forward line, Chelsea have now shifted their focus toward signing a wide player. 

The club’s recruitment team, led by new manager Enzo Maresca, is said to be working tirelessly to secure a winger before the temporary transfer deadline at 7 PM UK time today, ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Borussia Dortmund winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has long been on Chelsea’s radar. The Blues reportedly had a €35 million offer for the 20-year-old Englishman rejected earlier in the window.
