President Donald Trump has endorsed a second candidate in the race to become the next governor of South Carolina. His second endorsement comes just days before the upcoming June 23rd Republican runoff election.
On Friday, the president took to Truth Social to endorse both longtime South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson and Lt. Governor Pamela Evette, adding that “with either one you can’t go wrong.”
“I can’t hurt one of them by Endorsing the other, so, therefore, I am going to Endorse, for Governor of South Carolina, both Pam Evette and Alan Wilson!”

Trump had previously voiced his exclusive support for Evette back on May 29th, calling her an “America First Patriot,” who had been with him “from the very beginning.” She has served as the 93rd lieutenant governor of the Palmetto State since 2019.
Wilson, who has served as the state’s attorney general since 2011, took to X following the dual-endorsement announcement. He thanked the president and reiterated that he has been proud to stand with Trump in his fight to “restore American strength, drain the swamp, protect our freedoms, and put working families first.”
Once the results from the Republican primary were in, Evette received 136,480 votes, or 28.9%, while Wilson trailed her with 123,643 or 26.1%, according to the Associated Press.
Due to neither candidate securing the 50% majority threshold required to win the primary outright, a runoff between Trump’s two endorsed candidates will take place on June 23rd.
This isn’t the first time Trump has issued a dual enforcement, as he is also backing both Gina Swoboda and Jay Feely in next month’s Republican primary in Arizona’s 1st Congressional District. Additionally, during the 2022 GOP Senate primary in Missouri, the president endorsed “ERIC,” both Eric Schmitt and Eric Greitens.
