The perfect storm, Minnesota style
Minnesotans are rarely unable to top the unbelievable stories that make it into the news elsewhere. It accounts for the improbable frequency with which we give rise to stories that become national and international news, sometimes without having passed through the local press.
In Minnesota Alpha News is the alternative to the mainstream press. Today you can find Jenna Gloeb’s previously unreported story on Mr. Wilson Tindi — “the Kenyan national convicted of sexually assaulting a sleeping woman in Minnesota” who “wasn’t deported after his prison sentence — he was promoted.”
Jenna reports that Tindi “holds a director position at the Minnesota Department of Education, where he audits taxpayer spending and oversees internal accountability.” Jenna reached out to the Minnesota Department of Education for comment. This is a new one on me: “After Alpha News reached out to MDE for comment, Tindi’s bio was removed from the agency’s website.” I’ll take that as confirmation of Jenna’s story.
We are accustomed to this: “Neither MDE nor Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty’s returned requests for comment.” The matter of Wilson Tindi represents Minnesota’s version of the perfect storm.
If you, like me, thought you could take it for granted that the Walz administration would not hire a convicted sex offender to *audit* the Department of Education, you were wrong. https://t.co/sAc8d400de pic.twitter.com/JeGWbzSJYA
